Do you feel the same about adult rapists?
Were they just following uncontrollable urges?

I did not evade your question, I would think it was obvious where I stood, of course I believe there is something uncontrolled going on in a rapist the same as a child molester to take the chance of being imprisoned, killed or worse to accomplish an act which may last for seconds.... these people have a severe problem, one which is not cured by threats of violence against them...nor the hearing of people like you who show them that they need not bother being cured, as that will not matter, they will still be harmed.

Zen:Do you feel the same about adult rapists?
Were they just following uncontrollable urges?
Castration is too good for them, IMHO...

how christ like and loving of you? forgiveness is not in your vocabulary?
if castration would end the demonic urges and restore the person to a sane existance beneficial to the public, you are saying you have no use for it?
how many ways can a person go wrong? there seems to be mentally or physically... if the urges are a result of too much testosterone or something like it, then a quick snip may provide the cure, and why would you damn a cured man?
if it is mentally, such as irrational beliefs and the person changes because of some religious conversion, you would still find no cause for forgiveness?
I find people who have no compassion for the suffering of their fellow man...who would rather see another punished then cured, to be just as monsterous as those they seek to harm.... you just think you have a better excuse to do violence to another, is that it?

has anyone considered the following:

Pedophiles are acting on what they are often if not always aware, an impulse which may get them killed or worse....

that is one mighty powerful impulse and apparently laws, threats of death and violence has had no great effect on it.

but from a pedophiles point of view, would it not make sense for them murder their victims to avoid punishment?

giving them no chance of forgiveness and no option but death or worse, I would think they would feel trapped and desperate beyond their already uncontrollable urges, no?

A while back I remember reading something about the Acts 15 council.... there were four "laws" established that were binding on all, christian and jew alike and these were based on what was told NOAH as that covenent preceding the law of Moses was for all mankind, not just the jews.

according to those laws given to Noah, it came out as follows:

1. Do not eat meat from an animal which was not properly bled.

2. Do not eat meat sacrificed to Idols

3. Avoid immoral sex4. Abstain from blood [ shed], that is murder...not what Witnesses have misinterpreted....

Have you ever thought of makeing an imaginary guru or wizard,, to draw from yourself wisdom??

I have been following a zen path which is a mixture of many things I have studied and experienced.. it basically goes like this

accept all experiences.

challenge all beliefs that arise from experiences.

try to find a minimum of three different explanations, theories, or beliefs for any experience to prevent false certainty from dominating the mind.

using the best judgement availible gamble on the option most likely to lead to peace of mind in the present moment.

challenge the standard for all judgements... where did they come from, what has verified their usefulness?

hold nothing sacred and beyond question, see the sacred in the perfection of the moment.

accept that all I know is within me and a part of me no matter how seperate it may seem and treat it as such... harming anything is a form of harming myself.

Trust in the ultimate nature of reality to be exactly what it must be... accept the wisdom intrinsic within it as well as the insanity.

accept everything and everyone as my teacher, but challenge everything and be skeptical as all beliefs are partial and incomplete to some degree.

first off let me thanks for your contributions in advance.. i read this term in post that gave it a negative slant.. masterbaition is good and whole some,,why would some one use it as negative,,unless they veiwed it a negative??

As to the path of enlightenment, I find that all systems, living or otherwise tend to seek stability and balance of forces as a natural result of the laws of physics... for a human this means seeking for a state of mind called peace or contentment.... since everything we do is caused by conditions which are the opposite of peace, namely, anxiety, boredom, dis-ease, etc.

But seeking in itself is an overcompensation and ends up being a movement away from that which you seek, since there is natural stability and balance. I would say it's pretty much the same as desire in context of the 4 noble truths as the cause of suffering. By focusing on exterior conditions and forces, one loses sight of that which is not subject to the pull of opposites - since both have the same essential nature. In other words, true peace have no opposite, and is not separate from opposites. They're one and the same.

when I say living systems seek, I do not mean consciously....I mean this is the laws of physics at work

Yes Zen, of course this is where the no self thing comes in. Self in this context as you know is really just being in bondage, the best example for a forum like this would be the JW self. Any identity, including Christian would be the same stagnant, idolatrous existence.

sense of self has always been something the so called spiritual have sought to erase... perhaps there is some value in this, but often it only means the shepherd seeking to manipulate the sheep...making it easier to fleece them.

this notion that we should strive to be enlightened be transcending the illusion of the self... sounds like it may have merit, but it could also be the oldest con game in the world...something leaders discovered to make their followers more manageable. which seems to me borne out by much history.

sex is sort of a natural drug and can cause many of the same problems as any drug addiction... and while free for all sex may seem like a good idea, it does reduce aggression and makes everyone much more mellow, the draw back seems to be extinction. the one main example in primates is the Banobo Chimps. they are considered the smartest and least aggressive of all apes, yet they are also the most endangered and near extinction....too much sex and too little aggression seems at terminal combination in the long run...so much for love being the key to eternal life (^_^)

here's all i found:.

june 1, 1997 watchtower, page 28. questions from readersthat evidently is how peter understood jesus' use of "generation" when he and three other apostles were with jesus on the mount of olives.

there are like nine times in the gospels where Jesus uses THIS GENERATION and it seems from a read of them all that he only means ONE thing.... those alive who saw him ailve....

when he spoke to the apostles, JWs and others conveniently forget he was looking right at them and telling THEM that THIS GENERATION will not pass away... not the generation who sees signs A B or C, but he was addressing THEM...and the historical evidence such as it is, seems to indicate that that is what they understood....

Paul said the time is short

John said we KNOW this is the last hour...etc.

basically they were all WRONG, but to admit that would mean to admit that christianity is a sham and hoax and that is just too difficult for believers to accept, so they have to find alternative interpretations and mythological allogories, etc... Jesus made no distinction among all signs that THIS GENERATION would see....capping it off with his grand finale return.... didn't happen then, did not happen now, nor is it likely to ever happen as written, since what was written was mythology not history.
